Sales Executive

Job Description:

globalCOAL is the leading online trading platform where global market participants buy and sell physical thermal and metallurgical coal based on SCoTA - the world's standard coal trading agreement. 

Our growing international community of coal consumers, producers and traders relies on us for quick access to spot and forward markets and first-hand, best-in-class coal pricing information.

Market participants use globalCOAL’s price data as a reference in physical and derivative contracts, for risk management, market analytics, strategic planning and for a variety of other purposes to facilitate the day to day running of their commodities business.

We are looking for a Sales Executive to join our Data Sales team and to have a direct contribution to the commercial success of our growing global business.  

Primary responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Data Sales team to identify new opportunities within the designated territory
  • Generate new business through proactive pursuit of the incoming leads
  • Manage a list of existing accounts and work on preserving and growing existing subscription revenues
  • Provide customer support and manage client feedback
  • Stay up-to-date with the industry news and market developments

Skills and qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Interest in financial/commodity markets
  • Good written/verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Goal orientated with an ability to work towards revenue targets within a business environment
  • Previous experience of working in the commodities markets would be an asset but isn’t a requirement, as training will be provided
  • Strong MS office skills are required, and any knowledge of CRM databases would be advantageous
